Who it’s for Level 3 Beauty Therapists, Level 3 Facial Electrotherapy, Level 3 Access to Aesthetics, Level 4+ Aesthetic Practitioners (medic* & non-medic), PMU Artists* Level 4 with a full level 3 Anatomy & Physiology. All professionals must have a minimum of one year working on client facial skins. Evidence of qualifications required at time of booking.

*definition of experience. – Trained in how to skin analysis, skilled in facial technique and has worked on skin in their capacity.

Applicants must be aged 18 or over and have a good command of spoken and written English to fully engage in both the practical training and written assessments.

Always check with your current insurance company before booking on this course. We are aware that Insync and James Hallam insurance cover this treatment.

This is a one day course with pre access to learning online.

Course Duration & Timings

· Academy Attendance for theory and practical training on models

· Arrival from 9:45am for a prompt 10:00am start. The day finishes around 4:30pm.

Upon successful completion of treatment objectives and multiple-choice assessment all on the day.

To maintain a professional learning environment, we ask attendees to wear a beauty tunic or medical uniform with short-sleeved tunic. Footwear must be flat-soled and closed-toe for hygiene and safety. Flip-flops and sandals are not permitted. Long hair should be neatly tied back, and we recommend leaving jewellery and other valuables at home. Nails short. Gloves will be warn throughout the treatment.

All Signature trainers are fully qualified educators, assessors, and internal quality assurers (IQA). They actively maintain their professional development by attending annual training, industry events, and continuing to work within their own beauty businesses – ensuring their skills and knowledge are current and relevant.

  • Minimum is VTCT Level 2 Facial Massage & Skincare or VTCT Level 2 Beauty qualification as a prerequisite to join this course. If you have not yet achieved one of these qualifications you can combine Level 2 and 3.

Getting Insured

Securing insurance for your business is a requirement before you start working on clients. It’s there to protect both specialist and the client. Each insurer evaluates businesses based on specific criteria, including age, experience, qualifications, and the associated risks of the treatments offered.

Acceptance varies by insurer; a student approved by one may be denied by another, even with the same qualifications. We recommend that students check their insurance coverage before enrolling in a course, as they are responsible for ensuring they meet the requirements of their chosen insurer.

It’s important for students to meet minimum prerequisites, particularly for advanced treatments. All our courses are insurable with Holistic Therapy Services (Marc) [link here] an excellent insurer based on our 16 years of experience. However, we advise conducting your own due diligence before registering with any insurance company, as the ultimate responsibility lies with you. As a VTCT ITEC private academy, most insurers will cover our regulated and Ofqual-recognised courses. For CPD courses, which offer certificates of achievement or attendance, consult your insurance provider before booking any training.

Comprehensive Training in Facial Electrotherapy Treatments

In this course, you’ll dive into the essential theoretical aspects of facial electrotherapy, including an in-depth understanding of electrical currents, equipment usage, proper storage protocols, and safety precautions. You will also study contraindications to treatments and the psychological effects they may have. This course will provide you with a solid foundation in both mechanical and electrical facial treatments, with a focus on:

  • Recognising and managing contraindications
  • Conducting thorough consultations for electrical facial procedures
  • Creating customised treatment plans tailored to various skin types and concerns
  • Step-by-step procedures for high-frequency facial treatments
  • Step-by-step procedures for vacuum suction facial treatments
  • Step-by-step procedures for galvanic treatments, including desincrustation and iontophoresis
  • Micro-current facial treatment techniques
  • Homecare and aftercare advice to ensure optimal results

By the end of this course, you’ll have the knowledge and confidence to safely and effectively perform a range of facial electrotherapy treatments, ensuring excellent outcomes for your clients.

What will you learn…

The VTCT Level 3 Facial Electrical course covers treatments that skin passion professionals will love to incorporate into their treatment portfolio so that clients receive an enhanced facial. The practical and theoretical modalities you will learn are:

  • Micro-current / EMS to simulate muscle contraction to lift and give a tightening effect for the face features.
  • High Frequency to prevent breakouts and congested skin.
  • Vacuum suction stimulates and increases the hydration levels as well as detoxifying.
  • Galvanic enhances the penetration of products into the skin to rejuvenate and calm the skin – (iontophoresis & disincrustation)
  • Understand how to perform a thorough client consultation, treatment planning, preparation.
  • Understand how to provide aftercare advice.
  • Skin analysis- to treat a range of skin conditions and concerns. How an electrical facial will work towards delaying ageing, improve the appearance and tone, and reduce puffiness and breakouts. Combined with a prescriptive skin routine the results can be outstanding.
  • Psychological effects of the treatments.
  • Understand the contra-indications and contra-actions that affect or restrict facial electrical treatments and how to adapt a treatment.
  • The electrical currents and how they are implemented as facial treatments.
  • The knowledge to maintain safe and effective methods of working when providing facial electrical treatment.
  • Understand organisational and legal requirements for providing facial electrical treatments.
  • Understand anatomy and physiology that relates to facial electrical treatments

Training at Signature Academy:

Day One – practical at academy
Day Two – Practical at academy
Day Three – Assessment day (1-2 weeks later)

Course Size: Up to 4 learners for maximum learning and trainer 121 attention.

Timings: 9.45 arrive for a promot start at 10am to 4pm with a short lunch break.

Dress Code – For the practical aspect of the course, a professional beauty uniform ie tunic with short sleeves is preferred to give a professional image. Footwear should be flat-soled closed-toe shoes for safety reasons. We do now allow flip flops or sandals for hygiene and safety reasons. If applicable, long hair must be neatly tied back away from face and shoulders. We recommend leaving valuables, such as jewellery, at home.

Kit
No kit is required for this course.

All Signature trainers are qualified and still work within the industry to maintain state of art skills.  All are qualified in teaching and assessing.

Certification

After successfully completing your training, you will receive a Signature Academy certification through email. This will allow you to gain insurance immediately. This course is accredited with Holistic Therapy Services. Your VTCT qualification will be forwarded to you shortly after course completion.

Career Opportunities

Once you complete your course, you can start looking for employment or self employment in a salon, spa or start your own business from home or as a mobile therapist. Always do you research with local councils and also that your insurance covers you for mobile if that is your choice.

Insurance During Training

You will not need insurance when training with us at the academy. You fall under our training insurance whilst you are with us. However, as soon as you start working on the public you will require insurance.
