Securing insurance for your business is a requirement before you start working on clients. It’s there to protect both specialist and the client. Each insurer evaluates businesses based on specific criteria, including age, experience, qualifications, and the associated risks of the treatments offered.

Acceptance varies by insurer; a student approved by one may be denied by another, even with the same qualifications. We recommend that students check their insurance coverage before enrolling in a course, as they are responsible for ensuring they meet the requirements of their chosen insurer.

It’s important for students to meet minimum prerequisites, particularly for advanced treatments. All our courses are insurable with Holistic Insurance Services  an excellent insurer based on our 16 years of experience. However, we advise conducting your own due diligence before registering with any insurance company, as the ultimate responsibility lies with you. As a VTCT ITEC private academy, most insurers will cover our regulated and Ofqual-recognised courses. For CPD courses, which offer certificates of achievement or attendance, consult your insurance provider before booking any training.

This course covers an extensive range of subjects, including contraindications and contraindicated actions, as well as the anatomy and physiology of the skin, face, scalp, and neck. You will learn how to perform a client skin analysis, how to identify the different skin types, and skin conditions.  You will gain the fundamental skills to a result driven facial with practical skills in essential skincare techniques including:

– Face, lip and eye cleansing with a double facial cleanse technique

– Exfoliation bespoke to the different skin types and skin conditions

– Steam with extraction techniques

– A facial and scalp massage

– Customised blending of masks and pre-mixed for the different skin types.

– How to complete the experience including toning and moisturising

This training includes pre course work, practical sessions and assignments with trainer support towards assessments to demonstrate your skill competence and theory understanding.  At completion you with create a portfolio of your work with a record of your achievement. Your trainer will support you with the how to construct this.

Fast Track Qualification

  1. Induction online with trainer
  2. Access to pre learning
  3. Attend academy for learning over two days with no more than three other learners.
  4. Home study and return for one day assessment (1-3 weeks later)

Course Size: Up to 3 learners for maximum learning and trainer 121 attention.

Timings: 9.45 arrive for a prompt start at 10am to 4pm with a short lunch break.

Dress Code – For the practical aspect of the course, a professional beauty uniform ie tunic with short sleeves is preferred to give a professional image. Footwear should be flat-soled closed-toe shoes for safety reasons. We do now allow flip flops or sandals for hygiene and safety reasons. If applicable, long hair must be neatly tied back away from face and shoulders. We recommend leaving valuables, such as jewellery, at home.

Kit
A student facial kit is required, and the academy will provide this for you. This will be included in your booking fee

All Signature trainers are qualified and still work within the industry to maintain state of art skills.  All are qualified in teaching and assessing.

Certification

After successfully completing your training and assessments you will receive as VTCT Level 2 Facial Massage & Skincare qualification which is highly recognised by UK insurers and employers.

Career Opportunities

Once you complete your course, you can start looking for employment or self employment in a salon, spa or start your own business from home or as a mobile therapist. Always do your research with local councils and that your insurance covers you for mobile if that is your choice.

Insurance During Training

You will not need insurance when training with us at the academy. You fall under our training insurance whilst you are with us. However, as soon as you start working on the public you will require insurance.
